There were once countless historical manors in Latvia, built by the German aristocracy that had dominated, culturally, for most of Latvia's written history. However, the 1905 revolution, followed by the two world wars, did a lot to reduce the number. There are about 600 manors left now, but many of them are left to fall into ruin, and only old photos are witness to their former splendor. Today, Latvians are making dedicated efforts to preserve these historical monuments to the best of their ability, each assigned a unique purpose. Consequently, the condition of each manor can vary significantly in the present day. Throughout this captivating event, we will embark on a photographic journey to two historic manors - Veselava Manor and Zvartava Manor; and one enchanting castle - Stameriena Castle. Each day unveils a different location, providing a diverse array of settings that promise a fresh and inspiring backdrop for your creative photography. This variety ensures a rich and varied experience over the course of the event.
